San Francisco Bay Area Immersion has been postponed until summer 2021

An urban immersion

Join us for an innovative missionary discipleship immersion tailored to people who are transitioning into life after service or interested in social justice. Immerse yourself in the call and reality of Jesus in the bread line, and look at the issues facing our sisters and brothers on the margins (homelessness, sex trafficking, food insecurity, etc.).

We will spend time living, learning, serving, and encountering others as our beloved “Christ in a distressing disguise,” with daily reflections to help root us in Maryknoll's mission spirituality.

These issues are among the greatest challenges of marginalization in our communities today. This Maryknoll mission immersion will base our learning in Catholic Social Teachings and the words and actions of Jesus Christ. The challenges of homelessness, sex trafficking, food insecurity, etc. are most evident in places where the economy is booming (such as the Silicon Valley).  This experience will ground us in the context of global solidarity and how God is calling us all to respond.

Estimated costs: $600 which includes room with attached bath, breakfasts / lunches at the Maryknoll Mission Center in Los Altos, CA, and transportation.
