Our adventure begins in Nairobi, the dynamic economic hub where the nation's pulse beats strong. Journey to coastal treasures of Mombasa and Malindi, where intriguing projects offer a glimpse into the hopeful future. Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of nature with a safari in the iconic Masai Mara, witnessing the raw majesty of wildlife in their natural habitat. Venture to the Great Rift Valley escarpment area, marveling at breathtaking landscapes that stretch before you.

Trip includes:
- Encounter and relationship building with individuals, families, and communities in Nairobi, Mombasa and Malindi.
- Onsite visits to programs and projects including, Kenyatta University, East Deanery AIDS Project, Greenbelt Movement, sustainable agricultural projects, and others.
- Visits to cultural, historical and nature preserves, including the Masai Mara Game Park, the Great Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha, Indian Ocean coast.
- Orientation to the social, and economic realities of Kenya and East Africa
- Accompaniment of Maryknoll Fr. Frank Breen who ministered and lived in Kenya.
- Opportunities for prayer, liturgy and faith sharing, including daily reflections and faith formation activities
- Ongoing missionary discipleship support and formation before, during, and after the trip
Participant requirements and conditions
- Acceptance at Maryknoll’s discretion
- Participants must arrange and pay for their own air travel from the U.S. to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport NBO and back during the designated time frame. In-country transportation will be provided during the trip.
- Accommodations and meals are provided during the trip
- Current passport with an expiration date exceeding at least 6 months from trip date and Visas as required. Check U.S. State website for more information.
- Participants must complete trip questionnaire, be interviewed and sign a Travel Risk Agreement to be accepted
- Acceptance at Maryknoll’s discretion based in part on how the participant will utilize the experience after the trip
- Donation of $3,500 expected to help cover trip costs (subject to change)
- Non-refundable deposit of $300 due upon acceptance
- If you are not able to make the full donation, please contact us to discuss whether we can help you make other arrangements, including assisting you with fundraising.
- Trips require a minimum number of participants to proceed. Do not book nonrefundable tickets until you are approved and the trip meets its minimum participant requirement.
