Missionary Disciples in Merienda

Join other young adults for a special Merienda Experience where we'll explore the intersection of reflection and action against the unjust imprisonment of Americans of Japanese descent after Pearl Harbor and the Lenten season's call for solidarity. Sister Joanne Jaruko Doi, MM, will share insights into her family's journey in internment camps and how her faith, education, and culture were nurtured by a Maryknoll parish and grade-school after the war.

In small groups, we'll discuss moments of feeling overwhelmed or abandoned and what kept us going. In prayer, we'll reflect on the 13th and 14th stations of the cross, deepening our communities' Lenten journey in today’s world. Your presence will enrich our shared exploration.

Sister Jaruko has kindly offered to bring rice crackers but feel free to bring a snack or refreshment to share.

We look forward to seeing you here!
